Pirate costume for Russell Brand?

Russell Brand dressed in a pirate costume — who recently resigned from the BBC — is reportedly ready to appear in a new Pirates of the Caribbean film, as the brother of Jack Sparrow.

The 33 year old  Brand made headlines when he and Jonathan Ross left several lewd messages on the answering machine of actor Andrew Sachs. The BBC was flooded with complaints and Brand announced his resignation. Ross was suspended for 12 weeks.

This will be the 4th installment in the Pirates franchise. The first 3 have grossed almost $3 billion worldwide at the box office. Curse of the Black Pearl was released in 2003, Dead Man’s Chest came out in 2006, and the trilogy was completed in 2007 with At World’s End.

We don’t yet know if the other stars of the first three movies — Keira Knightley, Orlando Bloom, or Geoffrey Rush — will reprise their roles.
